Getting ready to leave for Ohayocon!
Eric and I are leaving tonight and will be stopping in Elkheart, IN to stay the night, get up early and head to my parents to spend a few hours with the family...and then FINALLY on our way to Columbus for da con!!!

UGH! Yet another weekend has flown by and I have nothing to show for it! >.>
The only thing productive that I've done was order a wig for my Milly cosplay...speaking of, I REALLY need to get to work on that. Ohayocon is at the end of the month and I haven't even started sewing!!
Working on cosplay and trying to get ready for a con just isn't the same as it used to be. Don't get me wrong. I love cons! Always will. But they're different now...I'm different.
I remember working part-time at Little Ceasers and still barely finding the time to work on costumes and only having to worry about keeping my little room clean. Now I have a full time job...with odd days off (ie: thursday and sunday), an entire apartment to clean, and well....just life to deal with....being a grown-up sucks ><
But everything will work out somehow! Here's what I have to do:
1) Work on cleaning the apartment throughout the week
2) Christmas decor is down and boxed up, but needs put in our storage unit
3) Laundry! (I seriously would kill for a washer/dryer in our apartment!)
4) Pull out all the cosplay material!
5) START SEWING!!!
PS: about 20mins I realized we hadn't pre-reged for Ohayocon and it ends tonight!! Thankfully, even considering the time dif between here and Ohio...we were able to make it!! LOL
Ok....that's enough for me tonight! Gotta get up at 7:30 for work!......God, I miss having to wake up at 9:30 ~_~

So ya wanna know what's annoying? The people in the apartment next to mine building something that requires constant hammering and use of a very loud drill.....and doing all of this after midnight!!!!...Seriously! It sounds like they're building wall-to-wall bookselves from scratch!!!! >_<
Ok....so it's a saturday night, but ,Hello!! I have no life >.> I'm just trying to relax while home alone and watch some tv/read a book.
This would've resulted in me pounding back on the wall to shut them up....but these neighbors are generally good and have never cause this much noise before. It's probably just a one time deal, so I'm not gonna get all pissy about it...but the annoyance will remain.
Thankfully, it seems to be quieting down already!

So what do you do when you find cranberries on sale for .50cents a bag? Take them home and attempt to make cranberry sauce for the first time!!!....And a pretty damn good sauce it is!!!
It's made with only whole cranberries, water, and sugar...You boil your cranberries in sugar water till they pop. Then stir around till mostly creamy, but there will be lots chunks...I know some people like to have their homemade sauce chunky, but I like mine creamy! So I used my imerssion blender to get rid of all the chunks and then strained it to remove any large chunks of pulp. It's soooo smooth and yummy!!!!
Going on with my day....
Eric and I have removed most of our Christmas decorations and now I'm going to attempt to make Split pea and ham soup!!
Lot's of attempts of making new food today!! Let's hope for the best! LOL

HAPPY (kinda late) NEW YEARS!!!!!
I orginally didn't have any plans, but Crizl got in touch and asked for Eric and I to come over for a small party! It was soooo much fun!
We started off watching some South Park while snacking on some yummy food! Then we all watched The Hangover! I remember everyone at work talking about it and how great a movie it is, but never got around to watching it, till now. BTW...Loved it!
I also had some amazing drinks thanks to Jeremy, Crizl's bf! First I had a cosmopolitan and then proceeded to drink numerous Choco-tinies!!!!....YUM!!! Cannot express how good those were!! Like milkshakes for adults!!!!
For the New Years countdown we didn't have poppers or noise makers, but Tach handed out Nerf Guns to everyone and we shot those around at everything and everyone!!!
So, YES! I had a great New Years!!! And in honor of New Years....here's the N.Y. Meme that sooo many people are doing!

I am so beyond happy that I have the next two days off of work!!! *happy dance!!*
And when I do go back it's only for a half day on saturday then off again on sunday!
I wish all my days off were two days in a row...I'd love to have weekends off. That'd just be spiffy! Unfortunetly I'm stuck with Thursdays and Sundays. ><
I've been spending the past hour or so remenising over old LJ posts. Rereading some of the funny/goofy/stupid things I wrote about. It's so odd reading those posts and remembering how things were then and relating them to how things are now. For instance, in one of my posts I was ranting about how I'd be single and stuck in little Bucyrus, OH for the rest of my life....and here I am now married and living in the Chi-town burbs!
Anywhos, I wasn't orginally planning anything big for New Years. Eric and I were just gonna bum around the apartment, watch tv, and veg out...but Crizl invited us over for a last minute planned New Years get together/party!.....So YAY plans!
So here are my plans for the next two days:
Tomorrow:
-Sleep in as long as possilbe!!
-Go grocerey shopping
-Stop by at mom-in-laws to give her her X-mas gift/get ours
-Bum around till time to go to Crizl's
-Gorge on good food and girly drinks!!!! :P
-Bring in the New Year!!!!!
Firday:
-Try not to sleep in too late (to get back into a sleep schedule for work**)
-Clean
-Watch Ghost Whisperer & Star Wars Clone Wars 1hr special
-ENJOY MY FRIDAY OFF OF WORK!!!!
As for the (**) by my sleep schedule note....I would love to go back to having two days in a row off because I can sleep in my first day, wake up at a decent time the next day and be able to wake up on time when going back to work. If I have one day off during the week (like now) and sleep in on that day I can't fall asleep at a decent hour and ergo have trouble waking up when trying to get up for work.

Hard to believe that in less than a month another year will have come and gone. I feel like this last year was the longest, yet somehow also the fastest year I’ve ever experienced.
I don’t really feel like doing a “Year End Review” post right now. Guess I’m just feeling a bit…thoughtful.
So many things go on in life that I tend to get caught up and loose track of the time. I used to be a devout LJer back in the day. I kinda miss that. It helped to recap my day. Make me remember what I did so the day didn’t just pass by without a second thought. It’s also nice to have a post to look back on years from now.
I’d love to say I’m gonna restart that. Attempt to make a daily post or even a “every couple of days” post…but I’m sure we’d all know how that end >.> So if I get around to it then good…if not, Meh, life goes on.
But lemme catch you up on what’s going on right now.

I can't sleep ~_~

So it's 7am and I've been up since 5am and I didn't go to bed till 2am....Yay 3hrs of sleep ><
I'm cramping so bad right now! I'm currently sitting on the floor in my bedroom, infront of the space heater, trying to reach some level of comfort which would allow me to at least fall asleep for a few more hours. I did head out to the living room for a bit hoping that some idle tv would help me zone out and fall asleep, but Angel came on and I found myself actually alertly watching it, so I did the smart thing and turned it off and came back to the bed room.
I had hoped that most of my cramping would have happened yesterday, rather than...oh....middle of the night/right now!!
It always feels 10xs worse when I cramp while trying to sleep.
My luck, I'll not be able to fall back asleep, just decide to stay up/run outta time and have to stay up, then head over to Eric's mom's for Thanksgiving Dinner....and the itis will hit HARD!
I have so much planned that I want to get done today, but I don't I'll get anything done at this rate. Seriously, I think I'll be lucky if I mange to leave Eric's mom's without falling asleep.
And to think, I get to wake up at 6:45 tomorrow to be at work bright and early!!....joy....
I can't even remember if I have plans this weekend. I sure hope not, because all I want to do is sleep.

Well, it's after midnight, so....HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Tomorrow I'll get up, try to catch some of the Parade on tv (at least the end with Santa!) and then we'll be heading over to Eric's mom's for Dinner!
I gotta admit though, I feel kinda like I'm bum-rushin' Turkey Day because I'm all excited for Christmas. It's like when I was way excited for Halloween back in September. I always hold off on putting up my tree untill Thanksgiving day or the day after. I think tomorrow night the tree's going up!!
I don't want to ignore Thanksgiving all together though, so here's a few things I'm thankful for:
I'm thankful for having such a loving, wonderful husband who's my best friend in the whole entire world!!
For my family, as crazy as they get, we're always there for eachother!
For staying strong in difficult times. When money is tight and health is fading, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel!
For friends who, even if I don't see them that often, make me laugh and feel wanted!
For my cats, my job, and .... my lifestyle....We may not be rolling in the dough (far from it) but we live comfortably. I always hear stories about people who have it far worse than us and it makes me really happy for what we have.
But that doesn't mean I'll stop dreaming and wanting more ^^; My goal is to stop living in an aparment and have a nice house someday!

I'm getting ready to head out to the store, but before I do I wanted to make a quick update...
This morning I had a dentist appointment and for those who are not in the know, I've had a lot of dental work done over the past year or so. For awhile there it seemed like I was going into the dentist office every week.
I have a new dentist now and he looked at my teeth today, sadly, he found one litty-bity-cavity, but other than that he said I have very heatlhy teeth and amazing dental hygiene and went on to praise how nice my teeth were....which is really a shocker to me!
I mean, In the past year or so I've had about 9 cavities, one root canal and two crowns! It seemed like everytime time I'd step into the office I'd be getting yet another cavity.
And here my new dentist is telling my I have a good dental hygiene? I told him this, about how shocked I was. And all he could say is that sometimes he comes across patients that have really healthy teeth and due to diet or body chemistry or whatever...they go through a period of really bad tooth decay.
So, hopefully, if that is the case....I'm over my time of bad teeth.....Thank god I have good dental insurance, else I'd be paying some heavy fees!

I'm making some homemade chicken soup for dinner tomorrow!
The best way is low and slow! So I've been letting everything simmer now for about 3hrs! I wanna let it go for at least one more hour to fully develop it's flavors.
It's a very basic, yet classic recipe with very few ingredients: Celery, carrots, onion, salt, pepper, and, of course, chicken.
I'm using a cornish hen because a normal sized chicken would just be too big for just Eric and me! XD
Once the stock has simmered long enough I'm going to strain it all so it's a nice clear broth. Then I'll chop up the veggies and add them back to the brooth. And of course I'll clean the meat off the hen and add that back. It could be eatten as is, but I'm a classic when it comes to chicken soup needing wide egg noodles!
I'll try to remember to take and post a pic of the finished dish...but no promises! lol

Sweet Jesus?!?!
How in the world did I miss THIS!
It's Frickin' Bruce Campbell in a movie as Bruce Campbell trying to save the day!!!!!! O_O;;;;;;
Two years! TWO YEARS...I've been unaware of this!
And how did I finally come across this little gem?!
Cause Eric went to the library the other day and saw it for rent!! (why he didn't pick it up is still a mystery to me, but he has orders to go rent it now! lol)
Also, on a random note from this morning....I read THIS article today and was really pissed off. Apperantly, because I choose to take on my husbands last name I'm loosing my identity and basicly slapping all women rights activist in the face?.
...Excuse me?!
She argues that your last name is your identity...that it IS you. When under witness protrection you change your last name. And no one would reconginze a famous celebrity if they changed their last name....so therefore, your name is who you are.
Oh, and I really liked the part where she talks about how she likes the fact that many other countries "BY LAW" make women keep their orginal name....I dunno about you, but that just screams women rights...being told what to do underpunishment of the law.
No one forced me to change my name....I CHOOSE to do so. And last I remember, women fight for the right to be equal and make their own decicions and CHOICES....therefore, me CHOOSING to change my name is not me slapping on the apron, quiting my job, walking around barefoot and pragnent and humbly obeying my husbands every whim. (Just ask him, I'm sure he'd agree! lol...right sweetie! ^_^ xoxox)

Okay...so plans to get my costume nearly completed last night.....didn't happen ~_~
Infact, we're horribly behind and, yes, we will be sewing in our room on Thursday night, possibly Friday morning......fun times....
But....I had a plan? I knew what I had to do!...Why'd this happen?!
*points to mouth*
Yup, that gaping hole in my face that is responsible for so much pain in my life.
Last night, while eatting dinner, I bite down into a soft, fluffy egg sandwich and "Ow...what was that o_O?"
There on one of my teeth is a dark spot, most likely a cavity, which hurts to be chewed on or run over with strong stuff, like couth syrup.
So, to be honest, I had a little freak out last night. Most things don't get to me, but dental work is one of them. I've had first hand experience for just how painful a cavity can get. And all I could think of last night was being at the con and then having so much pain that all I could do was sit in my bed and cry.
So sometime TODAY I have to schedule an emergancy appointment with my dentist and pray that it doesn't take too long or that this isn't the begining of some nasty labor intesive dental work like I had last year.
Because we still plan on packing up the car and leaving....TODAY!!
I just hope all this procrastination doesn't run the experience for my brother. He's coming with us and this will be his first con! He's a blast and I know we'll have ton's of fun...if my tooth doesn't hurt.

It's tuesday...which means I pretty much have tonight to finish my costume. I'll probably end up finishing some small details while at the con, but I really need to get as much as possible done...Sadly, I close tonight, which means I have even less time to work...but, I'll do my best!
